INDIVIduo

Quante Volte

Noémie Schellens & Nathan Jardin

INDIVIduo "QuanteVolte"

Italian opera has stolen the heart of singer Noémie Schellens. For this project, she chose well-known arias from operas by Monteverdi, Bellini, Händel and Purcell. With the help of Rachmaninov, the arias are woven into each other to a new composition, with the theme of the wrenching pain that embodies the farewell of a loved one.

With her persuasive voice Noemie shares these pains emotionally with her dance partner Nathan Jardin. And Nathan catches her, he comforts her, leads and supports Noemie with his contemporary dance. His dance takes over the task of the musical instruments which are absent.

"Quante Volte" becomes the special experience of how they appropriate the music, the dance and the emotions. That is why every performance becomes a surprising, unique experience to the public.

A performance full of opera arias and contemporary dance, straightforward, extroverted and full of emotion.

INDIVIduo

Create Local & Perform Global

INDIVIduo is a concept in which a singer and a dancer are brought together to make a new creation.

The singer (male/female) sings a cappella (without instruments), the dancer (male/female) dances contemporary or other style. Together they create a unique and personal performance, with respect for each other's abilities and cultural background.

The chemistry between the two artists
is the heart and soul of the performance.

Each INDIVIduo:

-  stands on his own, it is a small, versatile, mobile production;
-  has the capability to adapt to the location (site-specific);
-  can be combined with other artists and disciplines;
-  is integratable into local projects

With local artists, new INDIVIduo's can be created, customized to your location, culture, or festival.
